Superbowl Sunday and the basketball action was fast and exciting at the Eagle Rock Small Gym. Gametime was 12:20 and a devoted crowd of 35 supporters cheered a great game between the Tiger’s Speed and the Mustang Rebels. Both teams are improving greatly on defense with Nicholas Sakaguchi showcasing good hands with steals and great passing. Justin Ortega of the Mustangs hit the first basket of the game and led the way on his team with 3 first half baskets! Way to go Nicholas. Not to be outdone, Drew Sunahara of the Tiger’s made a fast break and running basket. With the Tiger’s team playing lock down defense, it took the great ball handling of Travis Yonekawa to break through and take some shots on goal. Ryan Giberti of the Mustangs helped end the game on a high point with good energy and cheer. Great game teams. Looking forward to next week!
